MEMSA Golf Day 2023 - Post Event
Golfing for a good cause....what could be more rewarding!
A big thank you to everyone who had a hand in the success of the 2023 MEMSA Annual Golf Day.
Despite a delayed start and a spot of lightning - which threatened to put a damper on the day, we can honestly say that fun was had by all. Our hole-sponsors pulled out all the stops ensuring the golfers were well fed, watered and entertained around the course.
Golfers were spoilt with sponsored goodies from KAMA Coils, Reunko Steel, MEM Works and Jonsson Workwear. The cooler-boxes and branded waters were supplied by Phillips Global and golf towels from Nerospec.
The custom made golf shirts - sponsored by JA Engineering Works and made by Igalofu Apparel were adorned with underground mining machinery and were a real talking-point. As were the Versus customised socks sponsored by NTGR Engineering Projects in aid of our charity partner The Boikanyo Foundation.
Congratulations to all the winning teams and most particularly to Gareth Williams for his Hole-in-one. Thank you for generously donating R5k to Boikanyo in lieu of buying a round of drinks.
I think we can all agree it was the prize-giving dinner which was the highlight of the day. We were honoured to host many special guests from the industry and in some cases even put them to work -
PS. Julie Courtnage, CEO of the Mandela Mining Precinct makes an excellent auctioneer assistant!
The venue looked fantastic with artfully crafted centerpieces by Horona, while the wines sponsored by our newest members Afromix added to the infectious and often rowdy atmosphere. MEMSA CEO, Lehlohonolo was on fire as he and his trusty assistant drove up the auction prices of sports memorabilia and a Creamer Media full page advert - Inside Back Cover of any upcoming edition of Engineering News & Mining Weekly print magazine and in total an impressive R133k was raised for Boikanyo.
Lastly, thank you to Eagle Canyon for hosting our golf day again this year, the MEMSA Board, our members, golfers, sponsors, our energetic MC Mr. Bokang Kelepa, the MEMSA team, and honoured guests - you are the best!
