South Africa's 'platinum province' is famed for its vast underground resources of platinum, gold, diamonds and uranium, and is home to the world's largest platinum mines. With a rich history of mining and innovation for mining machinery, the NW is an important centre for engineering, manufacture and value addition in the mining value chain.


Join MEMSA and HPS in an introduction to clustering, and discover the value of cooperation and collaboration in the growth and stability of the NW Provinces equipment for mining ecosystem.     Lehlohonolo Amos Molloyi

    CEO of MEMSA

    Mr. Lehlohonolo Amos Molloyi, CEO of Mining Equipment Manufacturers of South Africa (MEMSA), a cluster representing 53 local OEM’s and service providers in the mining industry, and Mr. Molloyi serves on the following committees:

    • Member of the SAMERDI Steering Committee,
    • MerSETA Metal Chamber,
    • Steel Master Plan Working Committee,
    • Test Mine Steering Committee and
    • Recently appointed to the NFTN-RDI Steering Committee.

    Lehlohonolo holds a National Higher Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy from the University of Johannesburg, and a Marketing Management certificate from University of South Africa.

    His 25 years’ experience as a process metallurgist, operations specialist and experience as an executive manager at mines such as; Anglo Coal, Anglo Gold, Gold Fields, Kumba Resources, TransHex, and Etruscan Diamonds, together with his vast practical experience in mine and process operations, executive and strategic management implementation and passion for the future of South Africa, make him an energetic and formidable champion for local mining equipment manufacturers.

    Programme Manager at Mandela Mining Precinct

    Martin is the Program Manager for the Longevity of Current Mines Programme (LOCM) in the South African Mining, Extraction Research, Development and Innovation strategy, at the Mandela Mining Precinct. He has an interest in developing technologies to optimize the ultimate current and future mining systems.

    Martin has extensive experience in the industry, having served as a Mine Engineer and Mine Mansger for Lonmin Mines for more than 16 years.

    Davis has served as Project Manager at the National Development Agency, as Account Manager at the Industrial Development Corporation and Director of Gauteng Department of Economic Development.

    He holds a BA and BEd from the University of Limpopo; a Project Management Diploma from the University of South Africa; a Master’s in Development Studies form the Nelson Mandela University; and a Master’s in Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
